Dofus bots and the risk of a ban: what can honestly be said
Let's start with the only sentence that matters: using a bot on Dofus breaches Ankama's terms of service, and exposes you to a sanction — a warning, a temporary suspension, or a permanent ban of the account.
The framework does not move, and no software vendor can make it go away. What changes the risk is how you use a bot: a secondary account rather than your main one, player-like time slots rather than a bot running non-stop, quiet areas. The rest of this page covers what gets noticed, what EZGather does to limit it, and what no software can promise.

Why we don't promise undetectability
You will find bots advertised as “100% undetectable”. We wrote that on this very site, and we removed it. Three reasons.
It cannot be verified
Nobody outside Ankama knows what their systems detect, or when that changes. A claim that cannot be proven is worth nothing.
It does not survive the first ban
The day a user loses their account, that sentence becomes the evidence — against us, and rightly so.
It no longer matches reality
The conversation in the community has changed. Experienced players are no longer looking for an undetectable Dofus bot: they are looking to manage a risk, and advise each other not to farm around the clock.
What gets noticed, and what we do about it
Without claiming to describe Ankama's systems: four behaviours that keep coming up in what the community reports, and opposite each one, our answer. These reduce a risk; they never guarantee anything.
Mechanical regularity
A character that always clicks in the same place, with the same delay, never deviating. A human does not do that.
Delays that vary
The time between actions is not constant. It is drawn from a range, not fixed to a value.
Endless sessions
Continuous activity over durations no player sustains. It is the easiest signal to spot and the one most often cited against farming bots.
Time slots rather than continuous activity
Scheduling lets you define when the bot works. We prefer a tool that stops to a tool that runs until the ban.
Inhuman reactions
Chaining actions without ever hesitating, neither before one nor between two.
Irregular pauses
The bot stops at moments that follow no fixed pattern, for durations that are never the same: you set the range, it draws from it.
Reports from other players
Often underestimated, and probably the most frequent. Legitimate players dislike bots because they crash prices at the marketplace and make spots unusable. On busy gathering areas this is a very real risk — and a strictly human one.
It answers private messages
A character that never answers when spoken to ends up reported. With auto-reply, EZGather answers private messages: a short sentence, in the tone of the person writing, sent when a player would send it — after a map change, never mid-action — and typed like a human, hesitations included. As for the rest, a busy gathering spot is still a place where you are seen: that part is on you.
What EZGather does
We act on what is ours to control, namely the behaviour of the software.
- Delays and pauses that varyThe time between actions is drawn from a range, and the bot stops at moments that follow no fixed pattern.
- Time slots rather than continuous activityYou set when the bot works. That is deliberate: we would rather ship a tool that stops than one that runs until the ban.
- Neither the game nor your credentialsNo injected code, no Dofus file modified: the bot clicks the way a player would. Your credentials never pass through our servers.
- An answer to private messagesBrief, at a natural moment, with typing that hesitates: a silent account is the first one to get reported.
Does combat change the risk?
The framework stays the same. What gets noticed in combat is repetition, and EZGather replays no spell list: every turn is recalculated.
Other bots ask you to define your spells and their order, then replay them in a loop every fight. The same sequence, turn after turn, is the easiest pattern to spot.
EZGather follows no list. Each turn, it reads the fight and decides where to stand, who to target and which spell to cast. That is one signal less, not a guarantee.
- No spell order to program: the bot chooses every turn.
- Placement, target and movement change from one fight to the next.
- You set the posture and the thinking time: its way of playing is your own.
What we advise
These recommendations are not specific to EZGather; they have been the community consensus for years.
- Do not run a bot on your main account. It is the most repeated and most ignored piece of advice. An account lost is an account lost.
- If you use a proxy, keep it for a single account. Choose an address located in your country and used by you alone: a shared address exposes you to the sanctions of the other players who use it. Ankama forbids proxies and VPNs, and a proxy does not make the bot undetectable.
- Do not keep large amounts of kamas on an automated account.
- Do not run the bot continuously. Set slots that look like a player's rhythm. A character active eighteen hours a day, seven days a week, resembles nothing credible.
- Be careful on busy areas. A popular gathering spot is a place where you are seen.
- Enable two-factor authentication on your Ankama account. It has nothing to do with the risk of a ban, but everything to do with your account's security, and it is free.
What we will not do
- We will not tell you there is no risk.
- We will not publish a “ban rate” — we have no way to measure one honestly.
- We will not refund a subscription following a ban: that would be selling insurance on a risk we do not control.
If those terms do not suit you, the only honest answer is not to use a bot. That is a perfectly reasonable choice.
Frequently asked questions
Is using a bot on Dofus illegal?
It is not a matter of law but of contract: automation breaches the terms of service you accepted when creating your account. The sanction is contractual — losing the account — not criminal.
Can you get banned using EZGather?
Yes. As with any Dofus bot. We reduce some signals; we do not remove the risk.
Does an “undetectable” bot exist?
No, and nobody can prove otherwise. A vendor who claims it is asking you to take their word on the one point you cannot verify.
Is it riskier on certain professions?
Yes, through visibility. Fishing is the most exposed case: few fishing spots per map, often on busy routes, and the official forum threads where players report fishing bots are many. More broadly, a busy gathering area exposes you to reports from other players more than an isolated or underground one, such as a mine. The human factor is real.

The appeal goes through Ankama's support, not through us. We can do nothing about it, and we do not pretend otherwise.
Does a proxy protect my account?
It keeps your accounts apart; it does not protect them. With a separate IP address, the automated account is no longer linked to the others by its connection address. But Ankama also forbids proxies and VPNs, and a proxy changes nothing about what the character does in the game.
